Reupholstered StoolPatti - October 16, 2017

A little while ago, I decided that I needed an area in my house just for me: a place for me to read my Bible, put on my makeup, and drink my coffee in peace. I found the mirror, table, and stool in various thrift stores, and thought they went pretty well together!

The before picture is not very good quality, but you can see the upholstery on the stool needed an upgrade. I took all the staples out of the cover, and then took apart the pieces to see how it was put together. There were only two pieces: a square and a long strip. I traced the pieces onto new fabric, cut it out, pinned everything together, and sewed! I pressed the bottom edge of the strip down ¼” so that the edge would not be raw underneath. My handy husband hammered regular staples into the fabric because we don’t have a staple gun. But it worked! And now I have a beautiful and restful corner just for me.
