Sea Glass CandlePatti - 16. September 2018
While on vacation last month, Elias and I collected some beautiful sea glass (or beach glass). Sea glass is bits of broken bottles that have been smoothed by the ocean to resemble translucent stones. While researching what it actually is, we stumbled across
this blog post by a beach comber, who likens beach glass to the Christian life. God takes something broken, and uses trials to smooth the rough edges and create something new and beautiful. We wanted to make something out of our sea glass to remind us of how God works.
This craft is a simple candle holder. We used two glass candle holders: a plain votive sized jar to sit inside another larger jar. A votive holder works better than a tea light holder because it is taller and will give you more space to fill in with sea glass.
The stones go in between the two glass holders. We poured water around the stones, because they are even more beautiful when wet.
Simply stick in a tea light!
